Daimler Commercial Vehicles (Thailand) Ltd. (DCVT)


was established in August 2016 and is a 100% Daimler owned entity. DCVT will represent all Daimler commercial vehicle activities in Thailand and is the official distributor of FUSO brand commercial vehicles in Thailand. The company is headquartered in Sathorn area of Bangkok.

DCVT is an integrated part of Daimler Trucks Asia headquartered in Japan and it is a regional network in South East Asia.

The goal of the Company is to provide customized applications and pioneering technologies with an outstanding level of services for the commercial truck market in Thailand.

Based in Kawasaki, Japan, Mitsubishi FUSO Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) is one of Asia's leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. In 2016, the company sold a total of 130,000 vehicles including light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and buses under the FUSO brand, with 89.29% of its shares owned by Daimler AG and 10.71% by various Mitsubishi group companies. MFTBC is an integral part of the Daimler Trucks division of Daimler AG.

Daimler Trucks Asia (DTA) is an organizational unit that jointly operates Mitsubishi FUSO Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) – an icon of the Japanese commercial vehicle industry with more than 80 years of history – and Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a young challenger in the Indian market. DTA has a strategic business model that allows its group entities to collaborate in product development, production, exports, sourcing and research activity to provide the best of value products.

FUSO at a Glance


FUSO is one of the brands of the world’s largest producer of commercial trucks, Daimler Trucks, covering nearly all regions around the world including Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. FUSO’s light-duty to heavy-duty trucks (GVW 3.5–49 tons), vans, industrial engines and buses are sold in more than 160 markets. The FUSO brand is based on four core brand values.

2003

Mitsubishi FUSO Truck and Bus Corporation(MFTBC) is founded

DaimlerChrysler takes a 43% equity position in MFTBC, with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation holding 42% and other Mitsubishi Group companies a 15% stake.

2005

DaimlerChrysler increases its direct share of MFTBC from 65% to 85%.

Various Mitsubishi Group companies hold the other 15% of shares.

2007

DaimlerChrysler sells a majority stake in Chrysler Corporation.

The corporation is renamed Daimler AG. MFTBC is an integral part of the DaimlerTrucks division of Daimler AG.

After 2011

Daimler’s share of MFTBC increases from 85% to 89.29%.
